ASK ARLENE: Bead on the Wire
Posted by Web Site Administator, October 31st, 2006, 11:28 am.Do you ever find it hard to get the same size loops when making earrings or other components with wire? We have an easy trick to help keep your earring loops the same length and looking spectacular!
You need:
Headpins
1 bead that is at least ¼ inch or longer
Chain nose pliers
Round nose pliers
Wire Cutter

Directions:
Step 1 Arrange your earring beads on a headpin
Step 2 Set a bead on top that equals the size of the loop you want (the longer to
bead, the larger the loop it will make).
Step 3 Cut your headpin at the top of the measuring bead. Remove the measuring
bead.
Step 4 Bend your headpin into a 90 degree angle at the top of your bead stack.
Step 5 Make your custom sized loop and then repeat for other side!
Handy Tip:
If you decide to wire wrap your earrings, you can use a crimping tool to tuck the ends in when you are finished. Just align the concave part of the crimper with the bottom of your wrap (where that loose end tends to stick out) and gently squish it down. You will get a neat, uniform look to your wrap!
